A little sad

My dad is leaving for Greece today, and not that I've always been his biggest fan or anything, but I'm kinda sad. We went shopping yesterday and I had a great time with him. I made him try on a bunch of things (pants, shirts, cowboy hats etc) and he was a good sport about everything. We even joked around a bit. That's right, my dad made some jokes!

He even made up with my brother after they had a huge argument. Sometimes when I think that I must've been adopted, my dad goes and does something totally nice and makes me realize that I'm the fruit of his loins.

One thing I hate about going to the airport...the RIDICULOUS parking fees. To park your car in the garage for one or two hours costs $14.00!!! That's not to mention the downpayment you have to make to use one of those carts for your suitcases. Thank goodness we have a suitcase with wheels because there is no way in hell I'm paying $2.00 to use something for 10 minutes!

Fucking ridiculous.

A woman scorned

This is the new Kelly Clarkson video for her song Never Again. Enjoy!
(I'll see if I can upload her song in a little bit for you guys.)

I'm not here to bitch and complain...

but why can't this man come into my life? It is reassuring, however, to know that men like him are out there, not hiding under rocks (although some think that's a good hiding place). *Sigh* Andy Baldwin, you rock.

The New Guy

Don't let the title fool you. There is no new man in my life, however, I do have a new boss at work. I met him this morning on my way in and......he was awesome! He's super nice and easy-going. In addition to that, he used to work for the Graduate Studies Department, which means that he offered to help me get into the university for graduate work. Hoorah!

Other than that, I poured over a training handbook, did a complete redesign, and edited like a mofo. My good friend ImNotARobot did a lot of cutting and pasting, as well as butchering (in a good way). She is the woman who can hypercompress anything!
Anyways, other than that, my day was boring. I should probably hit the gym a bit later, or maybe go for a run around the block. *Sigh* How I miss running.

A little musical inspiration

I was looking through some of my old cds and I found an old favourite of mine: Big & Rich - Coming to your city. I popped it into my cd player and started to rock out to it. At first, I felt like a bit of dork, but afterwards, I stopped caring. So here's one of my favourite songs off of the album. Enjoy ya'll!

The Perfect Day

Today was one of the best days I've had in a while. PinkPolish and I just chilled. We grabbed some lunch and dessert at a restaurant and then we came back to my place for margaritas and a marathon of Sex and the City. It was, as Samantha would say, "fabulous!"

Now it's time to crack open the books. I've got a lot of reviewing to do before my summer course starts.

Toodles!

Day 2 of the Grind

So here I am, bored at work. Again. Actually, I think I prefer being bored to having a lot of work to do. But I would rather have work to do so I don't have to sit on my ass all day. Is that contradictory?

I don't have anything exciting coming up, except that PinkPolish is coming over tomorrow and we're going to go for a run around the block. We have a couple of great parks around us and I think the fresh air will do us some good before we get back into school for the summer.

Wow. I can't believe I don't really have anything else to say. Nothing weird is going on with KungPow. I think he's actually finally left me alone. Oh, here's one interesting thing. Bricks and I are talking again. Now it's nothing like what it used to be, but it's nice to be able to talk to someone who knows how I am and knows my pet-peeves.

Here's something completely off topic. Have you guys heard of what happened to Tyra Banks a couple of months ago? For America's Next Top Model, she was in Australia showing the contestants how to pose in a bathing suit. Some paparazzi snapped a few bad photos of her and probably photoshopped them, showing her to be really fat. But honestly, she still looked gorgeous. I mean, that's a healthy weight for a person, not the twigs that you see everywhere else. She then came out publicly and spoke up about her weight and eating habits. There's actually a really great article in Shape Magazine about it.
